Explores the considerations and steps required to plan your approach to ask for support from a business, includes considering mutual benefit, motivations and expectations from both sides and how to start shaping your ask.
• Introduction to fundraising
The idea of fundraising may seem daunting if you are new to it. This session gives a basic introduction on how to find funders, which sources of funding your project is likely to appeal to and why and how to present your project for a strong application.
• Is it for me?...Introduction to Individual Donations
An introductory broad overview of the different ways of raising money from individuals that are appropriate to the work of your group and your organisational capacity.
• Reaching Communities master class
Are you thinking about applying to this National Lottery Community Fund scheme? This session will help you understand the programme and prepare your funding application to maximise your chances of success.
• Preparing Awards for All applications
Would you like some help with putting your Awards for All application together? This training session will help you understand the programme and prepare your funding application.
• Making a good application to Charitable Trusts and Foundations
Do you want your application to stand out? This session explores how to write a funding application that satisfies the funder’s criteria, whilst at the same time promoting your project in a thought out, evidenced and appealing way.
• Aims, Outcomes and Impact
Many major funders require you to link your aims, outcomes and activities in your funding applications; explore a systematic approach to identify the need for your project and link your aims, outcomes and impact for a stronger funding application.
• Is it for me?...Supporter Engagement
Begin to explore how to communicate and engage with people that connect with your organisation in some way, be that through making donations or following your Facebook page, with the aim to encourage long term relationships and future donations.
• Is it for me?....Introduction to Social Media in your fundraising
This introductory session explores how social media can be used in fundraising and to engage with potential donors. Includes content angled to your needs and initial action planning for your organisation.
• Social Media Strategy Master Class
Develop your basic understanding of how social media can be used to cost effectively promote the work you do. You will have the chance to develop your digital skills in a supported environment, whilst building a social media strategy.
• Diversify your income
Have you been reliant on grant fundraising? Do you want to find out about different potential sources of income? This session helps you consider the options and outline a fundraising strategy for each of the sources appropriate for your project and capacity.
Sheffield voluntary and community group subsidy
A selection of our training sessions, which focus on different types of funding, are subsidised by Sheffield City Council for voluntary and community groups whose work benefits Sheffield residents. See our website for more information on eligibility and for the selection of subsidised sessions.
Statutory Body/Individual Consultants
There is a separate cost structure for individual consultants and statutory bodies, this includes Council departments, agencies and public bodies. Please visit our website for more information.
