EVENT on Wednesday 27th March 2019: Is it for me?...Introduction to Individual Donations

Posted by Bianca

According to the Charities Aid Foundation's UK Giving Report 2018, which looks at how individuals give to charity in the UK, the average donation amount increased in 2017. The median monthly amount via donation or sponsorship was £20, while the mean amount given was £44, with 60% of people giving to charitable causes in the last year and £32% in the last month. 55% of donations made were cash donations, with November and December recorded as the peak giving months.

The SYFAB interactive session 'Is it for me?...Introduction to Individual Donations' provides participants with an introductory and broad overview of the different ways of raising money from individuals for their projects such as online giving platforms, Gift Aid and running lotteries and quiz type activities at events.

Participants will begin to explore how to collect money from individuals that are appropriate to the work of their group, organisational capacity, and to help widen their funding base
