Company No: 3030641 Overseas visits, trips and exchanges It can be very difficult to raise money for trips and visit, especially those overseas. Many funders, especially charitable trusts, state that they will not fund them. You may need to think about raising the money yourselves, or perhaps contacting local companies and businesses for sponsorship (we have information sheets about this). There are a few organisations set up specifically to support and give grants for (mainly educational) trips and exchanges. Connect Youth (formerly the Youth Exchange Centre) is a department of the British Council, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for Education and Skills (DFES) and the European Commission. Grants are made towards exchanges between groups of young (15-25yrs) British people and young people in other European countries and China, Israel, Japan, USA, West Bank and Gaza. They run the European Youth Programme (formerly Youth For Europe) which has study grants for youth workers and up to 50% funding for European exchanges.
