Funding Advice Bureau SYFAB guide to... Overseas visits, trips and exchanges Many funders will not support trips and visits, especially those overseas. So fundraising for these sorts of activities can be difficult. You may need to think about raising the money yourselves (for example, through fundraising events) or perhaps contacting local companies and businesses for sponsorship (see our other information sheets). There are a few organisations set up specifi cally to support and give grants for (mainly educational) trips and exchanges. British Council Connect Youth is the UK’s National Agency for the European Commission Youth in Action Programme. Connect Youth gives young people an opportunity to experience other cultures and countries. The programmes range from group exchanges and youth initiatives to individual voluntary service. The programme also provides funding to help people working in the youth sector to develop skills and establish the contacts necessary to enhance their work.
